Adding a concept project

Addressing embodied carbon in the early stages of concept development is crucial for optimizing sustainability in construction projects. Waiting until the detailed design phase represents a missed opportunity, as critical decisions made during the concept phase often set the trajectory for the entire project. By incorporating considerations for embodied carbon from the outset, designers and project teams can make informed choices about materials and construction methods, laying the foundation for a more sustainable and environmentally responsible project. Early intervention allows for the exploration of alternative materials, innovative construction techniques, and strategic design decisions that can lead to substantial reductions in embodied carbon, contributing to the long-term goal of achieving more sustainable and resilient built environments.
Tuuli enables developers to tackle embodied carbon as early as the concept design phase. All that is needed is the building footprint and height details and Tuuli will calculate the carbon and cost for a baseline building. This gives an overview of the embodied carbon and cost split into building elements. From here, you can edit different parts of the building to explore how this changes your building from the baseline (see input parameters for details). After making changes to the design, you can save and try out various other designs and easily compare them with the following features.
When multiple scenarios have been saved, move over to the compare tab to compare the cost and carbon at a glance. This analysis is broken down by building elements and individual elements can be isolated as well. Here you can select a scenario that will be reflected on the dashboard for this project.
