Tuuli is an end-to-end solution for tracking and reducing embodied carbon for your building portfolio. Currently, the construction industry is faced with the challenge of addressing two streams of carbon, embodied (i.e. the carbon emitted during the construction process) and operational (i.e. the carbon emitted from the lifetime use of the building). Given legislative pressure over the last decade to reduce operational carbon, significant progress has been made to optimize building performance. However, no one has yet taken the opportunity to develop comprehensive carbon reduction strategies for embodied carbon. Embodied carbon contributes significantly towards the building’s carbon footprint, which governments are starting to address by putting mandatory targets in place. As developers strive to stay within their budgets while meeting stringent carbon targets set by building owners and local policies, they urgently require cost-effective strategies to reduce their embodied carbon emissions. That’s why we are building the first platform that offers actionable building-specific insights to reduce embodied carbon emissions at all stages of the building development process.
Tuuli is designed for building developers of multi-family and commercial med-highrise buildings to manage and reduce their embodied carbon. The features of Tuuli are to help developers make more informed decisions when trying to reach their embodied carbon targets and have more informed discussions with all the stakeholders of the project.
The first time you log into Tuuli you will be presented with an empty dashboard. First, we recommend going into the settings and inputting your profile information. Next, navigate to the top right of the page to add a project. As you add projects the dashboard will populate with carbon and cost information that you can use for internal tracking.
As part of the concept development feature, we have incorporated cost and carbon data to make estimates for the buildings. The carbon data is taken as averages from the and the cost data is from commercial partners, , and , but can be changed at any time if specific numbers are known.
